Kooy says that a teacher ââ¬Å"must start by getting to know her/his studentsâ⬠and that means that in order to achieve those goals together, both teachers and students must enable a good academic and interpersonal relationship. She also states that ââ¬Å"One cannot make great teachers; they become great teachersâ⬠implying that there is an important starting point which is the will to teach and the ability to carry out all labors related to that job. Although those might seem selfish underlying ideas, the core concept is that ll of us (Foreign Languages Teaching Students) have chosen to become teachers and it takes a bit of passion and trust to make it to this point. We want to be great teachers because we have decided to do so. We love teaching and we love our students. Our greatness can be measured, if that is possible, through our studentsââ¬â¢ greatness.
